What they said about our 50th
|
|
|
|
My husband Bob and I had a wonderful time at the reunion!
Everything was fun, the Meet and Greet on Friday night, the visit to
Lincoln on Saturday and the Dinner Dance on Saturday night. It was
so good to see so many old friends again, and it was almost like we had
just been together yesterday, even though some of us hadn't
seen each other for the whole 50 years. There was a lot of love
and warmth and laughter. It was truly wonderful to see all of
those dear friends. Thanks to all of the committee, especially
Martha and to you, Bob. Without the efforts of you two, I wonder
if we would have had a reunion. It was good to see the old school
too, because it has definitely improved from the last time we visited,
about 10 years ago. It was cleaner and shinier, and the courtyards
were landscaped beautifully. Let's have another reunion in a
couple of years, I really don't want to wait till the 75th! By the way,
the picture captioned "Bob and Hedy Nark" should read
"Bob and Hedy Flowers". My maiden name was Nark.
We got a chuckle out of that caption. We hope to see you all
again in a couple of years, even though we have to travel 1,100 miles to
get there from our home in Orlando. It's worth every inch of the
trip!

The 50th certainly was a wonderful reunion, well organized, and
enjoyed much!
Our abundant thanks to all who had a part in the planning and
executing of our memorable event.

Jake Eberhardt sent an email to let us know that
he couldn't make reunion because he had surgery to rebuilt his
hydraulic pump {heart} but he's doing great. He's now retired for
2nd time. First from military. He plans to make the summer picnic.

I just want to say how much I and my friends enjoyed the 50th reunion
on Saturday. It was extremely well planned and everything seemed to go
very well. How wonderful to see everyone again! But, how come some people
had not aged at all?

I had a great time at the 50th. It was the first time I saw
Carl Lightfoot, Jim Oesterling, Amy Kurz, Alice Frost and Anita Garner
since ’53. I hope we can have a couple of mini-reunions before our 75th.
